GRIN-Global Overview

GRIN-Global  is  a  system  designed  for  genebanks  to  store  and  manage  information  associated  with  plant  genetic  resources    and    to    deliver    that    information    globally.    Researchers,    educators,   and   breeders   around   the   world   can   request   germplasm   through   the   GRIN-Global   websites   (or   GRIN-Global  data  that  has  been  uploaded  to  the  Genesys  portal.

Many genebanks around the world are using the GRIN-Global suite of software to manage their accession and inventory data.

Terms (as used in GRIN-Global)
Available

An accession is considered available when the curator or repository has determined there is sufficient inventory available for distribution.   Note that some accessions are seasonally available, and requests for these accessions are dealt with on an individual basis by the sites maintaining the germplasm.

Default Address

The currently preferred shipping address. To change your shipping address, you must be logged in; select Your Profile | Your Address Book

Historic Accessions

Data exists in the database, but the genebank does no longer maintains living germplasm.

Log in (verb)

Users who have created a user profile can log in to view their order history, view their wish list, and submit germplasm requests.

Not in Season

The germplasm is seasonally available and can only be requested at that time period.

Wish List

You can maintain a list of accessions to which you can return at a later date. When logged in, you can review the Items in the Wish List and, if desired, move into the shopping cart.
